President’s Note
From all of us on the AIIM Michigan Board, we wish to invite you to actively
participate in our chapter activities for 2009-2010.
With information protection, data accessibility and site disaster recovery
becoming more and more a part of standard operating procedure due to legal
requirements and litigation proceedings, topics like Compliancy and
eDiscovery are beginning to affect all of our organizations in some way.
In the past, organizations looked to the various document technologies in
order to make their business processes more efficient, and provide superior
customer service over their competition. Now companies are determining what
they will need to do for regulatory compliancy. Our chapter is placing a
strong focus on Compliancy and eDiscovery over the next 12 months and will
be publishing a road map of event and key note speakers, experts in their
fields, to discuss these key topics and raise the ECM awareness in the
business community. We are in a position, as members of AIIM to be at the
forefront of educating organizations about best practices, implementing
these practices, and providing solutions that will assist in managing these
regulations effectively.
Many of our board members have taken the lead to be more actively involved
in the networking and educational aspects of our chapter. We have also
taken a pro-active approach to partnering with our colleagues at ARMA and
PMI. Together we will there are strong synergies that will strengthen each
of our organizations in helping all of you in being better equipped to face
these tough areas in your business.
